Volunteering: Make a Difference
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Step up and be a real leader for progressive social change and social
justice through long range planning, organizational sustainability, and
fund development. The Board of Directors is one of the most
rewarding and visible ways to show your passion for NCJW and its courage
in addressing progressive issues.
SHALOM BAYIT:
FURNISHING PEACEFUL HOMES
- Serve on the Shalom Bayit
committee and help oversee the program, fundraising events, and
activities, and help to bring the program to the wider community.
- Assist professional movers who pick up
donations and make deliveries to survivors (no heavy lifting required)
- Volunteers needed every Sunday.
- Unpack, sort and display items in the
warehouse
- Assist during client "shopping"
visits
- Work on fundraising and special events
committees
FUNDRAISING & SPECIAL
EVENTS
- 2007 Annual Meeting
& Silent Auction - Develop skills to run large events and
auctions, and make great contact in NCJW and the greater Seattle
community!
- 2007 Chai
for Women's Lives Brunch
- Steering Committee forming now for this informative community event
featuring Dr. Susan Wood, former FDA commissioner.
- Grantwriting
- Help us identify potential program funders and prepare grants in
support of our programs and services.
- Fund Development
Committee - Work with the Board and staff to develop a
broad-based, long-term fundraising plan and goals.
OFFICE ASSISTANCE
- We are organizing our office space and
need assistance developing and implementing filing and computer
systems, archival records, and other general office tasks.
